Eight2Five is an innovation hub meant to harness innovation and it is conducive for those start-ups without office space or furniture.
The launch was graced by Old Mutual officials as well as the Minister of Youth, Sport, Arts, and Recreation Hon Kirsty Coventry. In her remarks, she applauded the Old Mutual team for giving the youth a world standard platform to work from.
To make the event more energetic, it featured a pre-recorded session by Takura as well as a virtual tour of the hub by Marvellous Nyongoro and Takura. Pedzi Chimbwanda who is part of the Management at the hub had a small presentation in which he highlighted how the birth of Eight2Five innovation hub is an indication of the need to reimagine new horizons whilst embracing the ever-shifting new normal.
Old Mutual also helped the birth of B2C which is also a co-working space and a conducive place for networking. It Is also the same place that gave Tawanda Kembo a platform to form ‘Golix’ and it also played a role in the success of 263chat. Eight2Five seeks to provide even a bigger platform for the youth to explore and to come up with even greater inventions.
Apart from working space, Eight2Five also offers assistance to start-ups in terms of advice and even funding to start-ups when necessary.
