ZESA Denies ‘Tokens Are Cheaper On First Few Days Of The Month’ Hints On Solution

Beginning of every month is a busy time for ZETDC as citizens buy their tokens, this time around the system was not waking because of the congestion. ZETDC confirmed in a statement that the ZETDC prepaid token system is down.

ZETDC however dismissed the rumour that tokens are cheaper on certain days of the month.

ZETDC further advises customers that the lifeline tariff is enjoyed once a month when they make the first token purchase of units ANY DAY during any calendar month, therefore it is not true that electricity is cheaper when purchases are done within the first five days of the month.

They also advised that they will now indicate how the units being purchased are charged on the prepaid voucher so as to get rid of false rumours.

In order to assist customers, prepayment vouchers will indicate how the units being purchased are charged and the bands to which they belong, in compliance with the provisions set out by the regulator.

Yes, that maybe true but it also seems as the first days of the month is the best time to buy tokens as citizens will still be doing their monthly budgets.
